There are really two things in this world that I really try to get people excited about. First, there is Fair Trade (of course). The second is the the early 1990's. I feel like this was an incredible time in our nation's history that is not at all getting their due. Bright neon colors, roller blades, slap bracelets, sweet grunge rock... this was a golden age for civilization. We were so full of hope--thinking that things like portable phones and personal computers might solve world hunger and bring peace to the world. Big bad Google hadn't come along yet, so we had all those fun little search engines like "Lycos", "Alta Vista" and "Excite". You never really found anything because Al Gore was just starting to build the internet, but it was really fun to try. Anyway, that why I love these bracelets. They scream "early 90's". Super-bright neon colors and swirly designs--which are pretty much what dominated America about 20 years ago. In fact, in 1992 the American flag was briefly replaced with an all-neon version feature "neon red", "neon white" and "neon blue". It was quickly abandoned, however, because the awesomeness of it cause several heart attacks. And also the neon white blinded several people with sensitive eyesight instantly. Lesson learned... and don't worry, these bracelets feature 0% neon white, but 100% awesome.
